Spy on shameless tourism

image

There are two kinds of people in the world:

  1. Those who go see the ‘Abbey Road’ crossing, act ‘local,’ above it all, and go away.
  2. Those who go, stop traffic, so you can pose — pausing mid-step — to look like the Beatles.

(Yes, that means everyone goes.)

I’ve discovered my Favorite New Thing. Watching shameless tourism — the second category from above — hold up traffic on the Abbey Road Studios’ live webcam of the most famous striped crosswalk in rock’n’roll history. It is FASCINATING.

Watch it, for hours, here.

I must admit, with some shame, that I’m in the first category of people. I visited while living in London and passed Jude Law a block away. (Please insert your own ‘Hey Jude’ joke here.)
